Chocolate Merino Roving

from 15.00

Every May I visit the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, and cannot resist checking out the offerings at the fleece sale. I usually purchase one or two smaller fleeces that I hand wash and process for personal spinning, but I'm excited to finally bring some of these special wools into the shop to share with you all.

This roving was produced from a single sheep's fleece, and it's the most beautiful chocolate colored Merino with flecks of grey here and there. It's soft and airy, easy to draft, and just perfect for spinning long draw.

100% Merino Wool /  Mill Carded Roving

Sheep raised and fiber processed in Pennsylvania, USA.

Note: Roving is packaged loosely in a bag to allow for easier shipping. If you would like your roving wound into a ball, just let me know!

How do I care for my wool? Please wash all hand dyed wool items in cool to tepid water to ensure color fastness. When required, please use a mild soap formulated for use with wool. Warning: Washing hand dyed wool in hot water (100 degrees or higher) will break the dye bond, and result in color loss. The average temperature of household hot tap water is 120 degrees, far too hot for wool and skin, so please take great care when washing your treasured wools.
